Being ready in stillness

Being ready in stillness
Happy Sunday Dear Friend,

How are you in your heart of hearts? Does each day feel like a week with the speed of changes around us? Are you finding ways to trust and surrender to the changes without getting swept away with the despair around you? It’s important to stay apprised to be prepared yet how do we not succumb to the panic. These times are calling on us to step into warrior shoes of our highest volition, without question..

Since last Sunday, India’s Prime Minister Modi announced a countrywide 21 day lockdown urging that nobody goes out of their house. Pretty much what is happening around the globe. Here it is mostly preventative at this point while the numbers of sick are low.

I must say that equal to feeling safe here and being supportive of this action, I felt overcome by anxiousness for not being able to reach my loved ones in Canada should they need me. This weighs very heavy on my heart. And as the fear would grow, my love would grow expedentially. A profound love big enough to take me out of my body and out of life as I know it.

After weeks and months of following the explosions of covid-19 and trying to be ready to move to safety should we have to, I realized that my whole life of spiritual training took me to exactly this point in time and space. This would be the case no matter where I am physically but at the moment we are between a sacred mountain and the holy Ganges. What more can one ask? If energy can heal, this place is an electrical Mecca to draw on and I send it your way.

This morning while we were allowed to go out for fruit and vegetables, we also crossed the street to sit by the holy river and drink in the prana of the sun catching the powerful currents. I noticed a small concrete Baba’s (holy man) house accross the river and we talked about the fact that only 40 years ago there were maybe 25 Baba’s living in seclusion here. No stores, restaurants, temples, schools, hotels. Now it’s a fast growing city that draws tens of thousands of people internationally for spiritual teachings and yoga every year. To sit in the glory of this energy as quiet as the baba’s would know in the early days is truly profound. The mountains are clear, the air is fresh, the birds are ecstatic, the fish are jumping. Although the monkeys seem a little disparity for the lack of people to steal food from. Lol
What can I do to help is a question that arises often in me now, perhaps in you too. For all of us it will be different. For me, all I know is that the call is to trust and surrender to issues of the heart and our highest wisdom to live more harmoniously with the earth and one another. To water the seeds of compassion, not fear. To be mindful of our consumption in what we eat, drink, watch and read. The seeds we water will be the ones that grow. And as much as this sounds too altruistic, look around.. it’s happening.

Big love and safety to you from Mother India,

Gisele
